Details for Claudius Marcellus, C - Roman Republican moneyer

Republican moneyer and consul in 49 BC, who issued coins during the military campaigns of Pompey the Great (q.v.) in Apollonia and Asia in 49 BC. The coins were issued jointly with the consul L. Cornelius Lentulus Crus (q.v.) and an anonymous Quaestor, and inscribed C·MARC·COS.
