Livery Badges between the 13th and 16th centuries in England

Principal investigator: Isaac Lawton
Level: Masters degree

I am conducting research for a Master's degree at the University of York, investigating various aspects of the use and effect of livery badges in England between the 13th and 16th centuries AD. The primary source of data for this project is a corpus of livery badges acquired from excavation and metal-detecting across the whole of England, and roughly half of this data is derived from the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
Researcher-level access would allow accurate geographical data to be acquired for the whole set of PAS badges I am studying, significantly increasing the quality and utility of the quantative analysis being undertaken as part of the project. The project will continue until the 5th of September, 2018.
