I am embarking on a dissertation project to fulfill part of the requirements of the part-time degree course in Archaeology at the University of Hull. The research subject is the archaeological evidence for land use by the monks of Selby Abbey from 1069 to the Dissolution. Becoming a research level user would assist my study because through my discussions with the HER I have already learnt that there is a concentration of medieval finds in the parish of Brayton, and identifying their accurarte locations may, I hope, help me to pinpoint the sites of the monastic granges.
My supervisors are Dr. Helen Fenwick and Dr. Peter Halkon of Hull University who support this application for research level status. The submission date for the dissertation is 1st May 2013.
