Roman settlement in south-west Wiltshire and the Montagne Sainte Victoire in Provence, France

Principal investigator: David Roberts
Level: PhD level research

I am PhD student in archaeology at the University of York, studying Roman settlement in south-west Wiltshire and the Montagne Sainte Victoire in Provence, France, and looking more widely at Roman attitudes to the natural world. I would like to use the research level PAS database to get detailed information on the distribution of metal-detecting finds around south-west Wiltshire, especially in the area of Teffont Evias and Teffont Magna, where I run the Teffont Archaeology Project, a community driven landscape archaeology project. The PAS data will contribute towards refining my understanding of activity within the landscape, and will contribute to the overall development of new interpretations of Roman activity in the area in my thesis (due for completion October 2013).
