Desk based assessment work

I am a freelance archaeologist and historic buildings specialist and undertake reports and research for bodies such as English Heritage, National Trust and private developers. I also do voluntary work as a committee member for the Architectural and Archaeological Society of Durham and Northumberland. In the course of my work I need to be aware of finds information to ensure appropriate safeguarding of sites and identifying research opportunties when required. I also regularly have the opportunity to enhance the database with new finds which come to light as a result of my work.
