Chalk Hillfigures (especially the Uffington Horse) in a landscape context.

Principal investigator: Alexandra Egginton
Level: Masters degree

I wish to become a research level user while undertaking research for my Master's dissertation. In brief, this is looking at Chalk Hillfigures (especially the Uffington Horse) in a landscape context. The data from the PAS database is of considerable importance in attempting understand the landscape at that time.  As part of this, we are interested in the distribution of known find spots around these monuments. One avenue of investigation is exploring the density and types of sites and find spots, contrasting places from which the chalk carvings are visible as opposed to those locations from where they cannot be seen.

The project is ongoing and due for completion on 19th September.
