Iron Age coins found in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight

Principal investigator: John Finlay
Level: Masters degree

The study will consider those coins found in Hampshire and the IOW which circulated in the area prior to the Roman conquest. Since it is not particular to any tribe or sub-period, it will cover a broad range of coin types and help identify interactions between tribal areas during the period.  The study will endeavour to establish (i)   what coins circulated in the area (ii) possible sources of the coins (iii) the purpose of the coins. It is hoped the study will provide new insights about iron age coins in the study area.
