2016 saw another record number of discoveries reported under the Treasure Act. These included the fabulous Staffordshire Moorlands Iron Age gold torcs, a Bronze Age gold armlet from Soberton, Hampshire, and an important Roman/Iron Age coin hoard from St Levan, Cornwall. The Treasure Act exists to ensure that important objects from our past, which are part of our collective heritage, can be acquired by museums and made available to everyone. 363 finds from this year will end up in public collections, for all to enjoy and learn from.
