A single silver plated Anglo-Saxon buckle pin dating from the 6th-7th centuries AD
Only the pin has survived. It is of the 'shield-on-tongue' type with an integral plate over the pin, with a rounded end then a waist formed by two rounded cut-outs (opposite each other), then a rectangular lobe with a nick in each short projecting edge.
