A small sub-circular copper alloy Post Medieval strap fitting; a mount dating from AD 1500 - 1800. It has two inetegrally cast spikes on the reverse, bent over to grip the fabric. The front is plain. Measurements are; diameter 10.0mm, thickness (including attachment pins) 4.2mm and weight 0.71g.

An almost complete copper Roman fantail brooch, a type of hinged Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. It fits into Mackreth Trumpet 4.1bx group. The integrally cast headloop is incomplete. The wings are rectangular and hide a tubular housing for the copper alloy axis bar. Only the top of he hinged pin survives. The upper bow is plain and D shaped in cross-section. A wall sherd from the body of a late Iron Age to early Roman ceramic earthenware vessel. Thick irregularly shaped fragment of hard coarse fabric tempered with spare poorly white quartz (mainly <2mm, occasionally up to 3.5mm). Black core and light grey internal and external surfaces with smooth faces. The external surface is covered with parallel grooves. The fragment measures 60.3mm long, 53.5mm wide, 10.2mm thick and weighs 34.36 grams.

A silver Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) scaetta, Series E, variety E, dating to AD 700-765. See Abrahamson (2006) p. 87 no: E200. Obv: quilled crescent coiled right above insect like creature. Triangular head enclosing two pellets, pellets in field. Linear bar to right. Rev: Degenerate beaded standard, with four bars and pellets. Central pellet in annulet. Measurements: diameter: 11.62mm and weight: 1.09g.  The flan appears to have been clipped.

A shell-tempered rim fragment from a vessel of probably Roman date. The fragment is part of the flat base and angled vessel wall. The in tact edge of the base is slightly rounded. Irregular breaks of dark reddish-brown sandy fabric with sparse inclusions of c. 1mm brown sand and abundant <0.5mm white sand and <0.5mm black sand. The fabric is darkened on the external surface, likely sooting.  The fragment measures 39.9mm in height, mm long, 34.3mm wide, 7.2mm maximum thickness and weighs 15.05 grams.

A complete probable lead weight or plumb of uncertain date. The lead is conical with a flat base and rounded tip with a small circular dimple. The object has a stippled, cream patina with signs of wear. Dimensions: Length 46.3mm, Diameter 11.2mm, Weight 30.80g. Lead weights are difficult to date when found as stray finds as they are used for long periods of time however similar weights on the database include ESS-EB2B97, WILT-BB2605 and SWYOR-24A123. The latter two, however, unlike the present example have a hollow core.

A shell-tempered rim fragment from a storage jar of Iron Age to Early Roman date.  The fragment is broadly rectangular in shape and tear-drop in profile with a rounded everted rim. Abundant angular calcareous inclusions <7mm amongst grey reduced fabric on exterior and break, and oxidised light brown on interior surface and part of exterior. The fragment measures 90.4mm long, 57.5mm wide, 23.9mm thick and weighs 130.16 grams.

A wall sherd fragment from a Roman samian ware bowl, probably a Dragendorf 45 type, dating c. AD 170-260. The sherd is irregular in shape and comprises part of the wall and rib. The fabric is fine and orange in colour at the breaks, with a glossy orange-red slip on both the inside and patches on the outer surface. The lower portion of the interior surface is covered by widespread angular sand, which is very worn. The fragment measures 69.4mm long, 33.9mm maximum width, 14.8mm maximum thickness and weighs 42 grams.
