Three examples of post-medieval dumb-bell shot consisting of two distinct spheres joined by a bar dating to the seventeenth century (c.AD 1600-1700). Each sphere is irregular rather than perfectly spherical and an off white grey colour. Either a cast lead button or token dating to the Post Medieval period. The object is circular in plan and trapazoidal in cross section having one surface which is wider than the other. The slated edges meanwhile are slightly curved. On the narrower surface there is a raised rounded border surrounding a shallow large cell within which is the raised design of a six petalled flower. Each leaf is a pointed oval meeting decorated with diagonal raised line and meeting at a small pellet at the objects centre. A very worn Post Medieval lead uni-face token of Powell type 2 (initial letters) probably dating to c.1550-1800. Circular and flat with the initial letters B / W M in two lines. A fragment from a cast copper alloy Roman finger ring. About one quarter of the ring survives including part of a D-section band with a convex outer surface and flat reverse. This expands from the shoulder to an incomplete bezel that would have been oval shaped. At its centre are the remains of a recessed incomplete oval cell which is empty of the intaglio that it might have held. The finger ring is a medium green colour colour. A fragment of Medieval ceramic floor tile. The tile has an orange red fabric with speckled inclusions. In the upper surface is a design in white enamel that is to small to identify the original design. This surface also has brown glaze across both the white enamel undecorated portions of the tile. The reverse is plain and undecorated having an irregular surface. The tile fragment is 67mm long, 52.1mm wide, 23.9mm thick and weighs 82.12 grams. An incomplete, post medieval cast copper alloy rectangular shoe/knee buckle dating between AD 1660-1720. The frame is broadly rectangular in plan and cross section, with a convex profile suggesting it is a shoe/knee buckle. Each outside edge expands into a triangular projection. A post medieval copper alloy (tombac) button dating to the 18th century. The button is flat and circular. At the reverse is an incomplete shank that would have extended into a loop to allow the button to be sewn to a garment. The front face is decorated with a multi petalled flower. There is a very similar design recorded by Bailey (2004) page 47, no 35. Bailey explains how the patterns on 18th century tombac buttons were hand engraved leading to great variation. The hoop would have been oval in plan and the surviving fragment is also oval in cross section.
