An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 750 - 950. The strap end is of Thomas' Class A, Type 2 with patterned decoration. The strap end is broadly triangular with a pointed terminal at the closed end and a worn break at the attachment end. The zoomorphic terminal is in the form of a forward facing animal head; much of the surface is damaged or missing but the terminal appears to include raised rounded pellet eyes and a stub-nosed snout. The central panel bears a curvilinear design with interlinked zig-zags geometric features. A complete lead-alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1100 - 1600. Walton Rogers Form C. The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a central perforation running through it. Both surfaces have faint traces of moulded decoration though the object is worn obscuring the exact design. The metal has a mid-brown patina and is worn. The spindle whorl is 27.19mm in diameter, 10.78mm thick and weighs 29.41g. The perforation is 10.06mm in diameter suggesting a medieval date as per the thicker spindles of this period (Walton Rogers, 1997, p.1731). It also fit…

An incomplete copper-alloy pin of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 800 - 950. The pinhead has a globular head with a flat top and roughly seven longitudinal facets. From the base of the head a collared circular sectioned shaft extends, tapering to a worn break. The metal has a green patina. The pin survives to a length of 11.19mm, the head has a diameter of 8.16mm while the shaft is 2.02mm in diameter. It weighs 1.98g. Plain circular collars are present to either side of the skirt from which the main ring extends. The buckle is D-shaped with a steeply angled outer curved edge which tapers to either end, narrowing to rounded knops.
