A complete gold seal matrix dating to the Post Medieval to Early Modern period (c. AD 1750-1900). The object has a heptagonal handle with an integral suspension loop at the apex. The handle has evenly spaced longitudinal channels running from a collar below the suspension loop down the handle to just above the matrix setting. A rounded knop crowns the suspension loop. The seal matrix itself is made of a black stone with the initials DE in black script in the centre of the matrix.
