The upper surface has a thick rim and has been stamped with a crowned G cypher for George II at 9 o'clock (Biggs, 1992, p52), a Ewer (for the London Founder's Company) at 6 o'clock, a sword (The sword of St. Paul for the City of London Guildhall) at 12 o'clock and a top-barred letter A (for the Averdepois system) at 3 o'clock.

An incomplete gilded copper alloy pin, 37.4mm in length, from a large buckle of probable post medieval date. The pin has an incomplete articulation loop around 11-12mm in internal diameter with a ridged collar at the junction with the pointed projection, which has a facetted semi-circular cross section with a flattened rear and curves along its length to the rounded tip.
