Half of a large copper-alloy post-medieval double-loop buckle frame, one loop missing with just stubs surviving (worn breaks). The surviving loop is oval, with a flat angled outside edge with traces of relief decoration. The circular-section bar projects slightly beyond the frame, and is now bent. Width 36.6mm, surviving length 26.1, weight 7.3g. Compare Whitehead 2003, no. 423, and BH-E6C73B; Whitehead dates them to c. 1550-c. 1650.

Post-medieval copper-alloy buckle frame, both loops rectangular or slightly trapezoidal, flaring slightly from the central bar. The bar is narrower than the frame, and projects slightly beyond it. The frame has bevelled edges and sharp corners, and one loop is now bent up slightly, causing stress to the metal. Length 37.4mm, maximum width 30.6mm, width at bar 27.7mm, thickness 2.2mm, weight 7.3g. Compare Whitehead 2003, nos. 506 and 507. 16th or 17th century.

Copper alloy hook. A sub-rectangular plate with an integrally cast short rectangular-section hook [tip lost]. A rivet of diameter 2.8mm passes through the centre of the plate. A second layer of thin sheet metal may cover the front of the plate and might even permit interpretation as a clasp from the end of a strap. Stained by treatment with oil by the finder. Copper-alloy late medieval or early post-medieval buckle frame in the shape of a five-petalled rose, with the loop of a copper-alloy pin wrapped around the central bar. The frame is flat and shaped into five slightly projecting petals, each of which has rounded corners and either a straight or slightly incurved edge. The bar has a slim circular cross-section, 1.6 to 2.2mm in diameter, and the loop of the pin is flat and 2.5mm wide. Copper alloy asymmetrical double loop Medieval buckle. The buckle frame comprises a larger oval loop with a second smaller adjoining rectangular loop projecting from the pin bar. The pin bar is centrally recessed with the wrap around flat rectangular cross-sectioned pin still in situ. The pin has a square end, but this looks to be a break. Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead, R. Buckles 1250-1800 (2003). p87. Nos.538-541 and are dated to circa AD1350-1450.  Dimensions: length 22.8mm, width 24.0mm, weight 3.64g.
