An incomplete figurative “grotesque” or “character” clay tobacco pipe moulded in the form of a monkey or ape, dressed in a theatrical outfit comprising a broad fringed collar with central stud, a buttoned jacket with cuffs and a narrow brimmed hat. The face is depicted with teeth bared and facial features finely detailed. The arms are depicted clasped in front of the chest. A heavily abraded rim fragment from a large medieval vessel, possibly a jug, with a buff coloured sand-tempered fabric. The fragement includes part of the rim, which had an original internal diameter of around 150mm and has an exterior flange to seat a lid. Below this is an abraded stump of a strap handle, decorated with pierced holes. The exterior surface has splashes of a green glaze.

A strap handle from a jug or flagon of a medieval greyware, c. 12th - 13th century. The fabric is reduced grey, hard fired and sandy with heavily iron stained surfaces from prolonged deposition in a riverine environment. The handle has a U-shaped cross section and the exterior side has incurved scalloped edges. There are vitrified areas and an overall malformation suggesting that this may be a kiln waster.

A rim sherd made from a shell-tempered handmade coarseware, probably in the Deverel Rimbury tradition and of middle Bronze Age (c. 1500-1000 BC). The fabric is a reduced dark grey-black, friable and tempered with abundant coarse and poorly sorted sub angular calcined shell inclusions. The rim had an original diameter around 350mm and is decorated with indentations. The exterior surface has no visible decoration.

There is no decoration to the surface, but thumb impressions from the potter are evident around the interior side.

A fragment of a pedestal base from a large Roman vessel, possibly a flat-bottomed amphora (cf. Gauloise 4 type). The fabric is buff coloured, hard fired and sandy with abundant mica. The sides are 11mm thick and the vessel would have been fairly robust. The base pedestal has a flat bottom and is 68mm in diameter. Circa 1st-3rd century AD.

A fragment of a base ring from a Roman bowl or cup of south Gaulish samian ware dating to the 1st to early 2nd century AD. The base ring had an original diameter of around 70mm. The fabric is salmon pink with no significant inclusions. The inner surface of the vessel is heavily abraded and the underside of the vessel has a moulded ridge around the base. There is no other decoration or any maker's stamp evident.
