Lower Palaeolithic flint scraper  dating c. 500,000-300,000 years ago. The object is fairly large  and irregular in plan, with a wedge-shaped cross section, 48.72mm thick at its widest point. It  has been worked across most of its surface with hard hammer flakes, with one convex lateral edge further modified with semi-abrupt retouch flakes to form a scraping edge that measures 15.48mm thick. The tool has a light reddish brown patina. Possibly Lower Paleolithic Mode 2 scraper, similar to Butler's figure 23, number 3 (page 65).

Lead hem wight. Cast discoid weight with a central sunken panel on one side wherein lie three drilled stitching holes. The metal retains a grey tint suggesting a recent date. Though probably most are of Victorian date, these objects continue to be sold today for crafts. The provision of three holes rather than the usual pair is an unusual feature; this is also a little larger than normal for the type. Cast concavo-convex naturalistically modelled mask of a maned lion with luxuriant tresses and ‘beard’ arranged in a sub-rectangular form to frame jowels, nose and brows projecting in strongly moulded relief.
