An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative, rear hook brooch, dating to c.AD 43 - 240. The pin and catchplate are missing. The Hollow cylindical wings are short and undecorated, the end caps of the wings are pierced to support the spring pin, also support the spring is a rear facing hook in the centre of the wings. The spring is formed of seven coils. Projecting downwards from the centre of the wing is the bow, it is D-shaped in section and tapers towards the foot. The bow is undecorated. A complete Post-Medieval copper-alloy cast spherical bell,dating to c. AD 1600 - 1800. The bell is complete and the pea remains. The bell comprises of two hemispheres, divided by a horizontal circumferential rib. A complete gold seal matrix dating to the Post Medieval to Early Modern period (c. AD 1750-1900). The object has a heptagonal handle with an integral suspension loop at the apex. The handle has evenly spaced longitudinal channels running from a collar below the suspension loop down the handle to just above the matrix setting. A rounded knop crowns the suspension loop.
