A fragment of a cast copper-alloy purse (Williams Class A2) of medieval date (c.AD 1450-1550).
Description: The purse remains as one terminal end of the frame which is rectangular in cross-section with a perforated semi-circular plate on the bottom edge, and an expanded terminal. The frame is engraved on both sides with the letters PLE // NA . dO. The object has a light green and red-brown patina.

Description: The object takes the form of a possible fleur-de-lis, flat, with thin, elongated projections. The circular suspension loop is set perpendicular to the fleur-de-lis at its base. The object has a a pitted and patchy grey- green patina.

Description: The object is symmetrical, consisitng of two conjoined globules which narrow at either end before flaring to discoidal terminals, each with circumferential grooves. A rectangular loop, D-shaped in cross-section, extends from both globules, straddling them both. The object has a dark grey-brown shiny patina, with areas of wear revealing a light green matte colour to the metal.

The lock escutcheon is irregular in shape, but with a flat cross section. Iron corrosion products do obscure the surface. The lock escutcheon has a pelta shape above with a sunburst stamp on a it. The lock escutcheon is irregular in shape, with a semi-circular top with a squared lys terminal at the base.
It measures 46.4 mm in length, 49. 8 mm wide and 10.3 mm thick. It weighs 31.9 g.

The bell is sub circular in plan and profile, with an integrally cast sub rectangular suspension loop attached to the top. The edges of the rectangular suspension loop have been bevelled. The base of the bell is semi circular, with a rectangular slot across the base, with circular ends. The Iron 'pea' is still present inside the bell. Minimal decoration appears visible on the lower hemispheres of the bell.
