An incomplete, broken and distorted Medieval lead ampulla. It is estimated that approximately one quarter of the ampulla, half of the top section, is missing as a result of damage. The other upper quarter has been bent out to the side, causing distortion to the original shape. The lower half (just less than half) of the object is preserved in better condition. Part of a cast, flat copper alloy palstave, dating to the Bronze Age. The axehead is small and relatively narrow. It is broadly sub-triangular in plan with a rounded blade. The cutting edge has a width of 34.9mm and a thickness of 4.8mm, appearing to have been chipped or damaged. A complete Medieval silver applied bezel finger ring, dating to c. Ad 1400-1500. The hoop of the ring is sub circular and made of two strands of twisted silver wire with a separate bezel soldered to the hoop. The bezel is in the form of a heart flanked on each side by a single four petalled flower which is connected to the heart by a curved stem. Although in good condition, the workmanship is quite crude.
