Possibly Late Saxon lead weight, conical with hollow underside and X-shaped rib on the upper part. Some small irregular indentations near the base are probably deliberate. In rather abraded condition. Height 12mm. Diameter 14mm. The height of the hollow on the underide 10mm. Weight 8.52g, perhaps for one third of a weight unit of 26.6g (8.86g) postulated for Viking Dublin (Kruse 1992, 86). No. 6 on annotated map in file.

Incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative brooch with rear hook, the spring, the pin, the lower part of the bow and the catchplate missing. The very short wings are decorated with a flute, and on the broad flat bow a median flute is flanked bypairs of grooves. The bow begins to widen before the break. Best described as an oddity. Wingspan 16.5mm. Extant length 20mm. c.43 - c.65.

Middle Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy pin with globular head and an integral collared shaft. The shaft is bent once (around 70-80 degrees) and may be complete. It measures approximately 42mm from the collar at base of the head to the tapering but blunt tip. The head is almost entirely covered with punched ring-and-dot impressions. There are four on the upper hemisphere, surrounding a small slightly-flattened area directly on top (opposite the shaft), seven around the middle, and six surrounding the shaft on the underside, none of which are particularly regularly-spaced.  The shaft is …

Roman copper alloy probably military harness fitting, a strap slide consisting of a flat oval plate with an integral rectangular loop on the reverse. Fragment of an Early Saxon gilt copper alloy Great square-headed brooch, the headplate only, missing the lower part of the inner and second panels, the pin lug and the junction with the bow. All breaks and cracks are quite recent. The frame is decorated with large V-shaped stamped impressions and stamped annulets around the second panel. The latter contains moulded running S-shaped mouldings and straight engraved lines, both horizotnal and vertical. In the inner panel a pair of square apertures flank an engraved rectangle. Hines 1997 Group XVI. Width 58mm. Extant length 36mm. c.510 - c.550.

Silver ovoid annular brooch. The frame is of concave-sided square cross-section, twisted cable-style, with a row of filigree pellets along each face and a pin constriction which holds a D-section silver pin, now broken near the loop. In rather fragile condition. Dimensions: External diam. 16 x 14mm. Weight 0.68g. Very similar to an example from Stanfield, Norfolk (HER 7241, 2002 T151, Treasure Annual Report 2002, 80, no.76). Date: 13th or 14th century.

Spacer secured by a rivet near the collared knop, another rivet near straight attachment edge for strap. Late medieval or early post-medieval copper-alloy button, cast in one piece. The head is circular, solid and slightly domed on the front with a flat reverse. The front is decorated with a relief design of a central pellet and what Read (2005) calls an 'eight-bladed impeller', i.e. eight radiating ridges turning into anti-clockwise scrolls towards the edge of the button.
