Incomplete Medieval composite strap-end with a forked spacer, ends of forks and one sheet plate missing, the other plate recently broken in two. Spacer secured by a rivet near the collared knop, another rivet near straight attachment edge for strap. Very fine transversely engraved lines on the knop, which is of similar form to Dress Accessories nos.680 and 684. 35 x 15mm. 14th - early 15th century.

An incomplete, silver dress hook of Post Medieval date (c. AD 1500-1600). Read Class B, Type 2 (Read 2008 pg.159). The object is cast in two pieces with a silver circular sheet and a separate hooked-section. The circular sheet is slightly domed, being convex on the front and concave on the reverse. Around the edge of the circular sheet is twisted wire filigree. The outer face is decorated with a central cross and a circular rivet hole which attaches the hook to the main body of the object. An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch (Colchester one-piece) of Iron Age to Roman date (AD 25-60). Description: The bow is broadly triangular in plan, curved in profile, and oval in cross-section which tapers to a pointed foot.
