A silver Post Medieval coin; a half groat of James I (AD 1603 - 1625), second coinage (AD 1604 - 1619). The initial mark is illegible. The large crown on the reverse indicates a date between 1604 and 1609. See North Volume II (1991) number 2104 on page 146. The coin is slightly creased at the edge. It is 16.39mm in diameter, 0.63mm thick and weighs 0.84g.

Initial marks are not visible, due to wear which prevents pinning down of subtype, the coin is missing part of its legend to a break around the circumference roughly 5 o'clock - 7 o'clock on the obverse. Measurements: 16.56mm in diameter, 0.61mm thick and 0.33g in weight.
