A fragment of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Post-Medieval date, circa AD 1550 - 1750.  The fragment is a decorated rim, and body sherd with a flat edge to the upper end and irregular worn breaks to the other sides and a curved profile. The fabric has a gray core with dark white edges and an applied green glaze to the inner and outer surfaces. The exterior surface of the vessel fragment is decorated at its widest point with two remaining parallel thumb impressions. The fragment is 51.3mm long, 44.8mm wide, 18.5mm thick and weighs 35.9g.

Ceramic building material. Sandy oxidised fabric; two small concavo-convex sherds, land drain tile fragments. Fiercely abraded. The manufacture of tubular land drain tiles became possible with the invention of extrusion machinery in the 1840s. Given a long family occupation of the farm whence these were reported, these were probably introduced by an ancestor of the finder, a point which may occur in records maintained if any such survive. Part of a hypocaust flue or box tile, with the grooves serving as keying for plaster. This object suggests a Romanised occupation equipped with central heating in the vicinity, possibly a ‘villa’ or its bath house. This narrow bore suggests a late 18th to 19th century date. A fragment of an abraded Roman oxidised vessel with lead vessel mend. The fragment is from probably a large bowl with very thick rim. Its posssible to estimate that the diameter of the vessel would have been above 300mm although less that 10% of the circumference now survives. The rim is everted and has a slight ledge before forming the body. The vessel has been repaired with an in situ lead vessel mend which is circular in cross section on the interior of the vessel and broadly rectangular on the exterior of the vessel. A fragment of Medieval ceramic floor tile. The tile has an orange red fabric with speckled inclusions. In the upper surface is a design in white enamel that is to small to identify the original design. This surface also has brown glaze across both the white enamel undecorated portions of the tile. The reverse is plain and undecorated having an irregular surface. The tile fragment is 67mm long, 52.1mm wide, 23.9mm thick and weighs 82.12 grams. Similar floor tiles on the database include LON-D71409, LON-B8CD46 and LON-229A12

A Post Medieval ceramic sherd from a Raeren stoneware bottle dating to AD 1517-1585. The sherd represents part of the body with a large round medallion featuring a male bearded portrait  within a plain  border, this is then framed with the legend [BI.MICH.BALDEM.ME]NN[ICKEM].
