A modern replica coin made by David Greenhalgh (Grunal the moneyer; this name is used on the reverse of the coin) copying a penny of Anlaf Guthfrithsson dating to the period (AD 939-941). Raven type. Cross reverse with single pellet in each quadrant. Type: N 537 (Anlaf Guthfrithsson, Raven / Small Cross) Obverse description: Raven head left Obverse inscription: ●+ANLAFGVNVNC● Reverse description: Cross with single pellet in each quadrant Reverse inscription: +GRVNAL●MON● cf. It has been folded in half so only the reverse is visible. It is 19.9mm long, 9.4mm wide and 1.1mm thick. It weighs 0.52gm.
