The object is of a size to fit snugly in the hand and may have been used for a grinding or polishing task using the flat face. The use of a probable Glacial Erratic for such purposes might be ascribed to Prehistory, or indeed any time up to the Viking Age, when the international supply of stone for specialist purposes was revived. A complete copper alloy ring of unknown date. The ring is oval in plan and almost hexagonal in cross section with bevelled front and back inner and outer faces. There are traces of a casting line extending around the outer edge. It is plain and has a dark green patina. The ring has a maximum diameter of 41.5mm, is 5.5mm wide, and 3.7 thick. It weighs 11.12 grams. Plain rings such as these cannot usually be closely dated and served various functions such as harness fittings and dress accessory components.

The bell has a grey patina and appears to be a made of a copper alloy with a high tin content.
