Cast and slotted plate with a moulded display side which tapers slightly towards a slightly expanded terminal at its inner end on the display side, narrower, thinner and shorter on the back. A hole of diameter 3mm appears near the folded and slotted part of the plate and retains gilding. Curled at its inner end. Probably from a spur buckle. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400

Cast rectangular single looped frame with a constricted outer edge to retain a sheet metal roller [lost], with casting ridges at its outer end, with a narrowed and offset strap bar. A rectangular sheet metal plate of thickness 0.4mm is looped round the frame and bears a large punched piercing next to the frame for a pin [lost]; torn at its inner end across another punched hole. The improvised pin hole may suggest this was converted from a broken clasp which had lost its locking tab. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1400
