Description (by F. Basford, D. Boughton & L. Ellis, edited by N. Wilkin) This hoard is formed of socketed axes of near complete and fragmentary nature. There are 11 individual items, with a further two fragments located within two of the axes. 1. Socketed axe of probable Sompting type, Figheldean Down or Cardiff II variant - Other ref: IOW2014-2-311-1) A near complete copper-alloy socketed axe of Sompting type.
