A complete Medieval copper-alloy harness pendant (c.1150-c. 1400).
This domed pendant is in the shape of a scallop shell with a cut-away tear-drop shape in the centre. The suspension loop is turned at 90° to the plane of the pendant. At the front, the cut-away is outlined by a border of indeterminate motifs.
The scallops of the shell are indented and the remains of gilding is present on the front face only.
Length: 44.8mm; width: 28.9mm; thickness: 7.5mm. Weight: 6.11g.
