Ceramic building material. Buff reduced fabric with occasional calcareous inclusions [rock] to length 4mm. Handmade roof tile fragment with one straight edge, and with the imprints of a sanded surface on its underside where the green or unfired tile was laid, and either glaze or vitrification traces on the smoothed upper surface. The glaze might suggest this to be part of a ridge tile or roof furniture, which were often glazed; the object is thinner than a plain ceramic roof tile. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1400 Width: 38mm, Thickness: 12.1mm, Weight: 26.29gms

A heavily abraded sherd of hand-made Bronze Age pottery, probably in the Deverel-Rimbury or possibly post Deverel-Rimbury plainware tradition. The fabric is reduced grey with an oxidised reddish exterior and a calcined flint temper. The sherd has a curve to it suggesting it forms part of the side of a beaker or urn. There is no decoration evident.

The rim is slightly everted with a flat upper surface and had an original diameter of around 330mm. The sides are undecorated with a pronounced carination and thin slightly up towards the rim.

A base sherd from a flint-tempered late Bronze Age to early Iron Age handmade coarseware bowl of the Post-Deverel-Rimbury 'Plainware' group dating prior to 800 BC. The fabric is a reduced dark grey-black and tempered with sub angular calcined flint inclusions. The base is flat with original diameter around 120mm and has a rounded break at the centre which may represent an intentionally drilled hole (c. 15.5mm in diameter). From the base the sides flare outward and are around 9mm thick. There is no decoration.

A small incomplete salt-glazed stoneware vessel, with a flat pedestal base of 36.8mm diameter and one remaining side which rises to a simple rim decorated with a circuit of brown dots. On opposite sides of the vessel are the bases of small handles, now mostly lost. Possibly an eggcup and circa 16th to 17th century.
