A fragment of pressed metal sheet with a series of closely-spaced grooves with a central impression, and with a small [diameter 1.7mm] fixing hole to one side. The use of a riveted fixing may point to an earlier date than would usually be considered for an otherwise non-diagnostic scrap. Possibly a mount from the corner of an object. Suggested date: possibly Late Medieval to Post-Medieval, 1350-1650

A complete lead alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) nummular brooch. Discoidal in plan and flat the front face is decorated with a human figure holding a staff and with a crown, sat on a bench holding a figure, either a child or animal, within a border of raised pellets or beads. This brooch fits a group of late Saxon disc brooches which copy, or appear to copy coinage of the period see Weetch (2013:15-16 fig no176,179), with the variants being divided by whether they copy obverse or reverse designs. A complete Medieval cast copper alloy key, c.AD 1300-1500.
The shaft is round in section and hollow, with a lozenge-shaped bow. The bit consists of two parts, with a deep, rounded cleft beween. The bit at the terminal is C-shaped, the other bit closer to the bow is scooped, appearing almost L-shaped.
This key has a mottled green and brown patina and is worn and corroded.

Post Medieval ceramic vessel fragment, c.AD 1550-1700.
This is possibly from the shoulder or rim of a large vessel, decorated with a thumb-pressed pie crust-style decoration. This sherd is from a salt-glazed stoneware jug, possibly of Cologne or Frechen ware. The fabric is hard fired and reduced grey throughout, with a brown-streaked glaze on the exterior.

Copper alloy door fitting. Cast plate to surround the keyhole in a wooden door, with a keyhole-shaped aperture surrounded by a moulded rayed pattern which becomes ribbed or segmented on the thickened outer edge of the plate. The keyhole aperture also stands a little proud of its setting; a drilled hole below the hole is presumably for fixing the plate. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900

An incomplete Post Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to circa AD 1550-1650. The whole piece is plano-convex in section. It is comprised of a rectangular apex loop. The body is sub-circular and openwork. Carrying a symmetrical design, it has two rows of circular openwork elements on each upper flank arranged in a 2-2 formation. In the centre is circular element comprised of circular pellets. The lower element of the front face is decorated with a moulded raised chevron. The hook is now survived only by a short stump.

A complete Post Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to circa AD 1550-1650. It is comprisedof a trapezoidal apex loop which is plano-convex in section. The body is circular with a convex front face and concave reverse. The front face is decorated with a moulded floriate design which is now so heavily worn that it cannot easily be distinguished. Projecting from the lower edge is a plano-convex in section rear facing hook.
It is consistent with Read's 2008 Class E Type 3 dating to the early part of the Post Medieval period.

The object was originally cross-shaped with four equal arms, however, three terminals have broken off, all of which would have emanated from a domed central boss with a concave reverse.
