An incomplete decorative copper-alloy sword/dagger hilt of probably Post Medieval date (possibly 17th-19th Century). The section comprises a decorative guard which include the remnant of finger loops and quillions, all of which have damage to them and are incomplete. The central block is rectangular with a moulded socket below - which would have fitted onto a pommel. The obverse and reverse of the central block are decorated with a man (possibly a warrior) holding a spear in his right hand and what appears to be a shield in his left. A copper alloy sword pommel of Petersen's Type S. It is comprised of five lobes, a larger central one and two of diminishing sizes set either side of this. There is the remains of the fixing in the top of the pommel and a hole through it. Inside are possible remains of wood and perhaps some of the fixing. According to Leahy and Lewis (2018: 328), this style of pommel is of an English type but is also attributed to Viking use. An incomplete dagger or sword of medieval date (c.AD 1200-1400). The object is a flattened sphere with a square hole on its upper hemisphere with a diameter of 9.9mm, and a smaller pointed oval hole on its lower hemisphere with a width of 8.3mm. These are the wholes of the pommel through which the tang of the blade would have been placed. Dimensions: Diameter 24.1mm, Thickness 17.9mm, Weight 12.49g. Similar examples can be found on the database: IOW-E66645, ESS-4C10C1 and IOW-E62AEE.

A copper alloy pommel of 'cocked hat' type, dating to the Early medieval period, c. AD 500-700.  The pommel is triangular in shape with slightly concave sides, with a rounded top point, and pointed flat ends. The open end is rectangular in shape. The inside of the pommel is hollow. There is damage to one of the edges of the pommel, and it is worn. There is no visible decoration. It has  a light green brown patina, and measures 33.9mm in length, 13.6mm in width, 12.2mm in height, and weighs 2.33g. Similar to Macgregor and Bolick 1993, page 238, number 46.3.

A copper alloy possible sword pommel, dating from the post medieval period, c. AD 1500-1650.  The pommel is circular, with on side flattened to a circular panel. There is a circular indentation in the centre. The pommel is hollow. At one end there is a circular perforation, at the other a square perforation. The pommel has a light green patina with red brown patches. It measures 20.3mm by 15.4mm, and weighs 4.86g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy sword pommel (Oakeshot Type J) of medieval date, c. AD 1300-1400. The fragment is rounded, with a raised ridge running across the centre. In the centre of this is a rectangular perforation. Either side it is slightly rounded, and concave, the edges are worn and broken. On the inside on the pommel there is red brown iron staining. An incomplete copper alloy late Bronze Age sword hilt probably dating to the Wilburton or Ewart Park metalworking tradition and dating to 1000 - c.800. BC. The terminal is 'fishtailed', and 31.8mm wide, with flared, pointed ends and a small concave depression in the middle. The hilt plate is 19.6mm wide and presents two raised parallel ribs along its length on both faces, with a broad central groove between. The object has broken across the first rivet hole which has a casting seam around the inside edge. The object is heavily abraded and all breaks are patinated.

It is discoidal in plan with a convex tap with moulded scalloped decoration. The decoration surrounds a central circular aperture, which has now filled with corrosion. The underside is plain.The iron tang would have slotted into the aperture. It is consistent with 'scent-stopper' pommels such as NMS-99CA03.
