A flint side scraper. Made on a tertiary flake of brown-grey flint with large off-white mottles. It has a gloss patina. There is the remnant of a low bulb of percussion at the proximal end  and faint waves of percussion on the ventral face. On the dorsal face is a concavity from a previous flake removal and three parallel, elongate flake removal scars. One long edge of the flake has been retouched with large, abrupt parallel flaking from the ventral face. Date: Neolithic - 4000 - 2350 BC Dimensions: 68 mm x 28 mm x 11.5 mm Weight: 23 g

A small backed knife or more likely an side and end scraper of Neolithic date (4500-2000 BC). The scrapernis formed on a broad secondary blade with a distinct baked ridge on the dorsal face created by removals of previous blades. A large patch of mid-white coloured cortex is present on the upper edge. The distall end of the ventral face has a clear bulbar scar and bulb of percussion as well as evidence of a prepared striking platform. A probably Early Neolithic (4000-2700 BC) side-and-end scraper on a secondary flake with c.50% cortex surviving to the dorsal face. The flint is black and translucent at its edges. There is a hinge fracture at the distal end and the bulb of percussion has been removed to the ventral face. The dorsal proximal end, lower left dorsal edge and all of the right dorsal edge has been reworked with scaled abrupt working, long at the proximal end and short elsewhere. The scraper measures 67.5x24.9x10.2mm and weighs 19.00g

A flint side scraper on a thick flake of uncertain date - potentially the flake could be Palaeolithic but equally it could be later prehistoric. The secondary flake has been hard-hammer struck from a mottled orange-brown flint. There are additional ancient removals / edge damage on the right hand edge of the ventral surface, but there is also modern damage on the same edge.
