Three fragments of a copper alloy sheet metal, probably from a medieval gauntlet. These are presumably fragments of medieval plate armour from the same gauntlet as a finger joint which they were found in close proximity to (PAS SF-965CF7). The two larger fragments are irregular in shape with breaks around several sides and are curved in profile. The smallest fragment is an elongated sub-triangular shape with a small circular hole through its outer end.
See original PAS record SF-965CF7 for notes about dating.

There is a small circular attachment hole in the centre of each outer edge, the outer edges of both of which are damaged. The surface of the metal has a fine, bright green patina.

An incomplete copper-alloy knuckle guard of late medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1400. The object comprises a curved rectangular plate with central projecting spike to the outer side. The spike is perforated, presumably due to wear. Two rivet holes are present; one to either end of the plate.
The knuckle guard would have formed part of a gauntlet with the dome-shape allowing the piece to fit over an articulated knuckle. The rivet holes would have been used to fix the plate in place.
