Iron Bomb splinter. Fragment of cast iron, concavo-convex with a gentle curvature suggesting a diameter of circa 300mm. The angular fracturing on all sides is consistent with an item of exploded ordnance, as kindly noted by Dr Kevin Leahy. Hull, about six miles to the west, was heavily bombed during the Second World War, but practice bombing ranges along the south Humber bank lay closer to this site. Length: 89mm, Width: 29.8mm, Thickness: 14mm, Weight: 108.26gms.
