Fragment of ceramic building material / Daub from Wattle and Daub. The fragment is relatively robust and contains organic inclusions; both burnt out inclusions and remains of hair. The fabric of the sherds is very soft earthenware with a powdery surface, large pebble size inclusions, and a uniform orange colour. A tight date range cannot be suggested as this style of wall building has been used throughout the historic periods. There is no clear evidence for burning. The fragment measures 30.2mm in length, 37.1mm width, is 17.1mm thick and weighs 13.64 grams.

Three fragments of possible ceramic building material. All three fragments are relatively robust and may possibly come from some form of vessel, however from the shapes of the pieces it is more likely that they are fired remnants of wattle and daub walls (being the daub part). The reasons for this are the organic burnt out inclusions and also the series of very shallow U shaped sectioned hollows; these may correspond with the wattle hurdles in a wall.
