A Roman enamelled copper alloy button and loop fastener of Wild's Class VIa dating to the period c. AD 100 - 200. The object exhibits a rectangular head measuring 15.4 mm in length, 14 mm in width and 2.87 mm in thickness. A massy cast oval or vesica-shaped loop with a thickened lug in its keeled front above and below the circular central aperture and with a grooved or stepped front; a round-section shank springing from the back of the upper part of the loop is turned through a right angle with a circular loop at its end.
