A copper-alloy Spanish maravedis coin of Philip III (1598-1621 AD) or IV (1621-1665 AD). The coin has several countermarks, including the date 1677 and the number VI, indicating that it was revalidated to 6 maravedis at some stage, perhaps in 1677 during the reign of Charles II (1665-1700 AD).

A very worn and clipped Post Medieval copper-alloy Spanish maravedis piece, probably dating from the 16th-17th centuries AD. The flan has been clipped severely resulting in seven sides and the legends are illegible. The obverse depicts a castle with three turrets, within a square-topped shield and possibly surmounted by a crown. The reverse depicts a lion en rampant within a square-topped shield, also possibly surmounted by a crown. Cf. PAS database record: SF-969614.
