A complete Post Medieval silver clip probably part of a scabbard or sheath, dating to c AD 1740 - 1800. It is a tapering D section metal bar, with, at the wider upper end is an oval plate which includes, in relief, a laureate, draped Classical imperial bust, facing, The features are very detailed, but rather crudely executed. The field in the background has a pitted decoration. Approximately a quarter of the outer rim of the coin is missing, broken along the lineof the inner circle.
