An incomplete flat disc lead seal matrix of Medieval date, missing a suspension loop. The outer face/die is decorated with the central design of a a flower, flaring at it's lower end into a triangular shape, with three curving leaf-like motifs. This is surrounded by a solid line inner circle followed by the inscription +S IOIH' hENR'  FIL ALEXAVD, perhaps reading Seal of John Henry Son of Alexander? A complete Medieval lead seal matrix dating to c.1200-1350 AD of a circular flat design, with a pierced lug on the reverse. It is a personal seal matrix for a woman. The central design is of a human face with a branch to the right side of the face. The face appears to be of a female. The inscription reads S': MIRIEL : TOPIS, which could be another form of the femine name Muriel, and Jopis a surname of Isreali origin.  This is a non-heraldic personal seal for the named individual. The use of circular lead seals in this manner is noted by Harvey and McGuinness (1…

Slightly damaged lead alloy Medieval ampulla. The ampulla is a bag or flask shape that is waisted towards the middle. There are triangular lug handles to either side, set where the more bulbous body joins the narrower tapering neck. The handles are not quite laterally aligned with one positioned lower than the other.  The top is damaged and is split and lipped over to one face, probably as a result of post-depositional impact damage rather than any contemporary attempt to force it open or shut. The iconographic decoration is raised and bifacial, with one face consis…

A complete lead-alloy weight dating from the Roman to Post Medieval period (43-1800 AD). In plan the weight is broadly trapezoidal with concave top and bottom to the weight, the sides are incised with two lines following the outer (long) edges, the outer parts obscured, rectangular in section, two holes are included in the cast, probably to facilitate suspension, one at each end. Weight equates to 7 3/4 ounces, probably intended as an 8 oz weight. Cf. WREX-F979D1 for a broadly similar but lighter example.
