A corroded and incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy strap mount with a narrow heart-shaped plate. The pointed terminal is missing, but on the basis of complete examples (i.e. SUR-CBD7A2) likely comprised a small pointed acorn shaped knop. The reverse is flat with two integrally cast attachment rivets.

A cast copper alloy decorative strap mount or fitting with a square plate, 19.4mm wide. The mount is decorated with raised cells of retained metal, with four small square cells around a central circular cell, all holding a red enamel inlay. The surface of the mount around these cells is gilded. The edge of the plate has a narrow recessed lip which appears to be beaded. The display side bears an eight-pointed star radiating from the centre with a pellet at the end of each ray and a single pellet between each pair of neighbouring rays. The motif distantly recalls the line-and-pellet decoration of spindle whorls ascribed to the early post-medieval period by this reporter. An incomplete cast copper alloy mount in the form of a flower with eight lobed petals, each having a waisted body, rounded terminals and decorative moulded ridges running along them. The centre of the mount appears to be recessed, possibly to accommodate a separate element such as a second rosette. There is a domed socket for a separate fixing shank or screw visible on the rear. Possibly a furniture mount or a decoration from a carriage or piece of horse harness and of post medieval to early modern date.
