A complete flint barbed and tanged arrowhead dating to the early Bronze Age or Beaker Period (c. 2400-1500 BC).  This arrowhead has been knapped from a light brown flint, there is no cortex remaining, but a light grey / white patination is present on both faces. It is broadly sub-triangular in plan with sharp point and is lentoid in cross section. It is broadly symmetrical in shape, with two notches chipped into the base of the flint to separate the barbs and the tang, one barb is still intact. Both the long sides of the arrowhead have been precisely reto…

A fragment of a Late Bronze Age copper-alloy sword dating 1000-800 BC. It consists of a fragment of the blade. It is sub-rectangular in plan and lenticular in section. One end contains a fairly recent break, tapering inwards into a fairly old break. The edges are bevelled. The faces of the blade are plain. The fragmentary remains preclude typological designation so it is broadly dated to the Late Bronze Age.

An incomplete, copper alloy (bronze) spearhead, likely from the Middle Bronze Age (1450-1150 BC). There is a central rib running along the blade with a high profile and a lozenge shaped cross section that tapers towards the tip of the spear, which would mean that the fragment is likely from a Middle Bronze Age looped and socketed spearhead, similar to HESH-8E7894. The original blade would likely have been leaf-shaped. The blade has lost some of its cutting edge due to abrasion in the soil, and parts of the blade have been chipped off, most notably a triangular sect…

A complete cast copper-alloy palstave like chisel of Middle Bronze Age date. It has a long blade of rectangular section, which tapers to a curved, narrow cutting edge, triangular in section. This expands beyond the blade either side to finish with a short section that is perpendicular to the body of the blade. The butt end would have been flat but is slightly damaged and therefore curves inwards slightly. The palstave is deep with prominent flanges either side which form a deep, lenticellular shape. The stop ridges are therefore deep too. Beneath the stop ridge…

Length: 34.4mm; Width: 11.2mm; Thickness: 6.8mm; Weight: 5.37g Precise typological classification is difficult considering the fragmentary nature of the object, however its form would suggest a Middle or Late Bronze Age date.
