A lithic implement dating to the Prehistoric period. The object is possibly a knife, indicated by the low angle retouch, which is made from a tertiary flake. The object is sub-oval in plan and trapezoidal in cross section with a large bulb of percussion at the proximal end below the striking platform. The dorsal face is smooth and worn while conchodial ripple marks are visible on the ventral face across the bulb of percussion. The retouch is short, sub-parallel and low angle. The large bulb of percussion and the thickness of the flake suggest a later Prehistoric date. It probably d…

A flint core probably dating to the Prehistoric period, (1500-300BC). The object is sub oval in plan and several flakes have been removed from each face. The object is of on a mottled light to mid grey flint. Dr Kevin Leahy writes: The coarseness and crudity of this implement would suggest a late date, probably in the later Bronze Age or early Iron Age.

An assemblage of seven lithic implements. 1: Fragment of plano-convex flint knife, highly worked. 2-5: 4 retouched flakes, one with hinge fracture. 6-7: Two retouched and notched flakes, one with large hinge fracture. The good quality of the flint used, the plano-convex knife, flake assemblage and generally good workmanship suggest an early Bronze Age date as likely for this group.

An assemblage of 81 flint flakes. Relatively poor in quality, irregularly struck flakes, often detached from the core at different angles to previous flakes. Retouch usually crude and minimalistic. Very few thin flakes and a high percentage of hinge fractures. All this suggests a later Bronze Age date.

A very large secondary or tertiary flake, patinated to milky grey/white, and crudely struck. The ventral surface is unworked and there is an area of cortex on the dorsal surface. There may be some crude working along the lower edge. Originally thought to be a Levallois flake but more likely a crude Bronze Age flake.
