A heavily corroded and fragmentary artefact which could be a small copper-alloy flat axehead in an early Bronze Age style. The axe is possibly a chisel axe used for fine carpentry work, but is could also be votive. The axe remains at a constant width towards the blade edge, the other end appears to have broken off but the breaks are very worn. The edges of the blade are straight. In profile the axe has a thin butt, which thickens slightly towards the main body and then thins again at the blade. The metal is mottled mid greenish-brown in colour and is heavily pitted. A fragment of a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead with rib decoration. The fragment is broadly square in plan. Late Bronze Age socketed axeheads are c.1100 BC to c.800 BC in date. The fragment is 15.05mm in length, 18.9mm wide, 4.40mm thick and weighs 4.73 grams.

Bronze axe of Arreton Down type. Expanded cutting edge, now asymmetrical; there are indications of small raised flanges down each side of the blade. It is likely that these were raised by hammering and not cast. The blade tapers, from its mid-point, towards both the cutting edge and butt. Most of the surface has been lost to corrosion but enough survives to show that the faces of the axe were not decorated. c. 1800 - 1400 BC.

A cast copper-alloy socketed axe fragment, found as a single find. The fragment consists of the incomplete blade and part of the faces of the axe; therefore the body and mouth do not survive. The surface of the metal is worn and corroded; therefore no casting flashes are visible. The blade expands at the cutting edge, but the socket does not extend into the blade tips. The cutting edge is corroded; therefore the original surface has been lost. The outer surfaces have a dark brownish-green patina. The breaks are well worn. Socketed axes date to the Late Bronze Age.

A corroded fragment of a possible small cast socketed axehead of probable Late Bronze Age date (1150-800 BC). The fragment tapers in section at a broadly 45 degee angle to the tip, with both top and bottom surfaces flat and corroded but with possibly complete vertical edges. In plan view the object narrows from a maximum width of 26.8mm to 19.6mm at the tip, and so might possibly be representative of a narrowed type of socketed axe.
