Grey flint possible fabricator. A knapped flint implement with two broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and a flat rippled ventral surface with a tiny striking platform at one end. Short abrupt retouch executed from the ventral aspect follows one long edge of a triangular-section object; other marks along the arises between faces are from fortuitous edge-on impacts. Grey flint with cortex, possible scraper, as kindly suggested by the finder. Brown flint with cortex, and with a spot of re-formed cortex, debitage. A small thick flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a platform at one end of its bulbar ventral surface – where cortex had re-formed. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows one straight edge, suggesting a short period of probably improvised use, perhaps of an older flake. Dark grey flint, possibly collected from the East Coast, scraper. A thick leaf-shaped flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a concave ventral surface with a bulb at one end. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect trims sandy brown cortex to form a small crescentic hollow on one edge. The initial working and retouch both appear perfunctory. Grey flint of good quality scraper. Angular lump with broad flakes removed by angled hard hammer strike from the dorsal side and a bulb on the ventral. Very short abrupt retouch follows one straight edge. An originally sharp aris between facets of the dorsal side has been ground or battered to afford a more comfortable grip. The lack of patina may suggest this was incorporated into a sealed context shortly after its manufacture. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 BC. Toffee coloured flint or chert of indifferent quality with a tiny patch of cortex. Probable scraper. This object may be made from a slice of a rod-shaped nodule, and is of gently concavo-convex form. The flake as presumably detached by abrupt hard hammer impact, and was subsequently retouched with pressure flaking on a single continuous curving edge. Pale grey flint with cortex, possible debitage. A thick flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a concave rippled ventral surface. The coastal find spot might suggest some damage represented by conchoidal scars on the dorsal side to have arisen naturally through rolling in surf. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. Copper alloy spearhead fragment. A small cast leaf-shaped socketed spearhead fragment with a pronounced rounded mid rib and of consequently quadrilateral section, broken just below the end of the narrow curving opposed cutting edges of its blade, probably in antiquity. The tip is also chipped, and this too may be ancient damage. The existing mouth of the socket is thicker on one side than the other, a weakness which may have promoted its breakage. The loss of the lower part of the socket leaves it uncertain whether this spearhead had side loops [a Middle Bronze Age form] or simply a h…

Dark grey flint with cortex; possible core. A long chunk with large flakes removed from three of its four sides by hard hammer strike. The aris between adjacent faces is crisp, and only a small pot lid fracture and a larger conchoidal scar appear to post-date the putative evidence for working. This may argue the recent exposure of this object. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. Height: 62.7mm, Width: 36.6mm, Thickness: 20.9mm, Weight: 55.86gms
