Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Pale grey flint with cortex spot, misty patina overall, scraper. Thumbnail scraper; an oval flake with a low bulb and ripples on the ventral surface and angled and short scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect following a curved edge. The extent of patina may suggest the object was exposed for a period after its deposition. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC.
Length: 26.9mm, Width: 31.3mm, Thickness: 7.6mm, Weight: 6.73gms.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Grey flint with dense creamy patina scraper. Flake with broad parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side and a very slightly concave ventral surface. The long edges are battered or ground, the more heavily abraded side being slightly hollowed by this. The extent of patina indicates this object endured prolonged exposure, possibly before the grinding of the hollowed side. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 BC.
Length: 31.6mm, Width: 23.1mm, Thickness: 8.4mm, Weight: 7.72gms.

Blue-grey flint with cortex scraper. Small flake with covering angled scalar retouch of the dorsal side and with a prominent bulb on the ventral. Very short abrupt retouch executed from the ventral aspect trims one short edge. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC.

Grey-buff flint with dense white patina, scraper. Flake with broad flakes trimmed from both sides and subsequently patinated, presumably through long exposure. This was followed by invasive angled scalar retouch executed from one side, which removed the patina. As no further patination occurred, the object may have been incorporated into sealed deposit shortly after its final deposition. The Early Bronze Age could accommodate all these episodes. The side opposite the working face is broken, probably recently. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC.

Grey flint with misty white patches of patina scraper. Thumbnail scraper with broad flakes trimmed from its dorsal side and a bulb on the ventral. Short scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows a curved edge. Patina accumulated after this working and is disrupted by two recent chips on the dorsal surface. Dark grey flint with cortex, possibly collected from the East Coast, scraper. Flake with cortex trimmed by angled hard hammer working from the dorsal aspect and with a bulb on its ventral surface. Further angled scalar retouch trims a curved edge, with a flat surface left smooth to permit pressure to be exerted on the opposite long edge. The putative working edge is battered. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 BC.

Grey flint with cortex and misty white patina, scraper. Thumbnail scraper with broad flakes trimmed from the dorsal side and a bulb on the ventral. Short scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows a curved edge. The bulb is also trimmed, probably by two sharp strikes executed from the dorsal aspect onto the edge of the flake. The extent of patina may suggest the object endured a period of exposure after its deposition, but it is interrupted by battering along the working edge, which may suggest an episode of reuse. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC.

Grey flint with dense misty patina scraper. Thumbnail scraper. Flake with a broad flake trimmed from the dorsal side and a low bulb on the ventral. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows the curved edge; the opposite edge is flat, probably deliberately so for ease of handling when using the tool. The extent of patina suggest the object was exposed for a period after its deposition. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC.

Flint pebble, dull red on its outer surface, possibly crazed by burning: scraper. A coarse scraper made by hard hammer striking of large flakes from the dorsal side of a pebble which has a prominent bulb on the ventral surface. An area of battering - if not a natural irregularity - occurs on one struck surface. The other two opposed working edges or sites bear short scalar retouch trimming parts of their edges. A concavity between these sites at the butt is also trimmed. One corner bears invasive scalar retouch executed from the ventral aspect, possibly marking the use of that part as…

Grey flint with cortex and dense patches of misty patina, scraper. Flake with broad flakes trimmed from the dorsal side and battering along its curved end, probably over the site of short angled scalar retouch. The extent of patina may suggest the object has endured a period of exposure after its deposition. It is disrupted along the longest thinnest edge, suggesting reuse of the object as a species of backed blade or knife. Both episodes may be accommodated within the Bronze Age. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 BC.
