The dorsal aspect bears overall scars from hard hammer working and pressure flaking finishing, all probably executed after the flake had been struck from core; the ventral aspect is smooth and flat, with only slight rippling from its separation. Grey and white banded flint plano-convex knife. Long narrow flake with a single long flake removed from its dorsal side and a bulb at one end on the ventral. Covering angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows all around the edge of the flake, and is only lacking at the site of initial trimming. The natural banding of the material is exploited for its decorative effect in a highly accomplished piece, and the initial and secondary working appears intended to permit the comfortable use of the tool, which is gently curved in profile.
