The form is typologically early, but the yellow tint of metal shows this is not a pure copper casting as might be the case with the earliest axes, but a bronze or other copper alloy. The thickened ribs and side strips terminate on an angled stop for hafting appearing on both sides of the blade; a low [7.3mm high and 18mm long] loop appears on one side only.
