A Medieval copper-alloy rotary key (c. 1350-c. 1400). The incomplete openwork bow is flat on both faces. There is no collar between the bow and shank. The oval shank is solid throughout its length. The simple bit is roughly square and may have has a cleft at the front. This key has a brown patina and is green where the patina has worn. Length: 30.6mm; width: 12.0mm; thickness: 3.6mm; length of bit: 5.3mm; width of bit: 5.1mm; thickness of bit: 1.1mm. Weight: 2.57g.
