A lead complete possible Viking gaming piece. It is oval in cross-section, with a copper-alloy rod in the centre, it has a flat, mis-shapen base. It tapers towards its upper terminal end. A similar, solid, possible gaming piece has been found at Long Melford, Suffolk see SF-C01997, Little Wilbraham, Cambridgehsire see SF-50B784, and two hollow very simliar examples have also been found at Little Wilbraham, Cambridgeshire, see SF-6F5256 and SF-6F7361. A sub-square lead alloy gaming piece, token or possible weight. It is rhomboid in shape although it was probably intended to be square. At each corner is an upstanding 'knop' cutting the diagonal of the corner to about a quarter of its length. Running across the face from these are two parallel lines etched into the lead alloy. The bottom of the artefact is flat, it has an even mid grey patina. Dimensions: it is 32mm long and 32mm wide, 6mm thick and weighs 47.65g

An incomplete lead-alloy possible gaming piece of uncertain date.  The object is circular with a flat top and base and a central perforation running through it. The outer edge of the upper surface is crenelated with four evenly spaced short, sub-circular projections. Worn stubs representing three further projections are also present. A stone possible gaming piece of possible Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The object is formed from a very smooth circular pebble, identified by the finder as Cornish greenstone. The pebble has two shallowly convex faces and rounded sides. It would have functioned well as a counter or gaming piece. It may have been naturally formed but collected for use as a playing piece. Measurements are; diameter 24.3mm, thickness 7.5mm and weight 6.74g. The stone is dark brown, fine grained and smooth, but with a slightly pitted surface under magnification. A Post Medieval gilded copper alloy token or Gaming counter in the style of a George III (AD 1760-1820) half guinea , dating to AD 1790. Dimensions: 19.8mm in diameter, weight: 2.72g. These coin-like gaming pieces were made in imitation of gold guineas and half guineas of George III's 'spade' type issued between 1787 and 1799. A complete Post Medieval bone gaming piece for the game 'dominos' or 'dominoes', probably dating to the 18th-19th century. The piece is 24.6mm long, with an incised line across the width of the centre on one side. There are no marks of value to each side of this line, suggesting that the piece is either unfinished or represents a double blank (i.e. a "wild" in the game).
